Qi: Manifestation and Regulations

All people possess "energy flow" or Qi, a type of spiritual force, deep within them. Those who manage to discover their Qi, which varies from person to person, usually at the age of puberty, or in rarer cases, through near-death experiences, are able to perform and use extraordinary, almost supernatural feats and abilities that regular people are unable to. If one were able to properly control this force, they could turn the tides of a fight in their favor, or even take command of the very elements themselves. However, few seem to be capable of properly wielding Qi, as most have little to no knowledge of how to even discover it, much less use one, and even fewer are aware of the existence of Qi.
To unlock a Qi, characters are required to do the following:
- Have at least 50 posts.
- PM a staff member with the kind of Qi you want your character to possess. Edits may be made in order to make it passable.
- Go through a GM-run trial unlocking your Qi, showing how you plan to use your Qi, and play your character.
Qi is meant to make you extraordinary, but please keep in mind that you will not be all powerful. Every Qi, no matter how ridiculous, will always have a weakness or drawback. Another thing to keep in mind is how long your character has had their Qi for. No matter how experienced you are, you can always learn something new. Be logical, no one is a genius like Kazuo Kiriyama from Battle Royale, your character is not going to be a master at using their Qi right off the bat, and few ever reach their full potential. Leave room for development, and you may be surprised at how much fun you can have along the way.
Same Element Type Attacks: If someone ends up using the same element of another person, they are not allowed to use the same type of attack as that person. We understand that this limits what you can do with elements, but if you have a power like fire or wind why don't you simply have your character use a different color or form of that element. Blue flames are one example of something you could do to make your power different from someone else's.
Restricted Qi: Acceptable choices, but need to be watched more carefully.
Mental manipulation, illusion, and adaptive evolution variants. (More may be added with time)
Banned Qi: These Qi will not be allowed for member characters.
Reality Manipulation and Time-Travel (More may be added with time)
Exceptions: All the gang leaders making up The Big Five are expected to have a Qi already. Almost all of them are run by staff, so assume that any you encounter unlocked and possess a Qi. Any character who has already obtained a Qi and has proof he or she has earned the ability to use a Qi, are exempted as well.
